How do I Get Childcare Training Hours in Oklahoma?

Hello! Today’s post is dedicated to all childcare providers in Oklahoma.

All Care Courses are approved by the Oklahoma Professional Development Registry (OPDR) and accepted by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services for ongoing training hour requirements for those who work in:

  • child care centers;
  • part day children’s programs;
  • school age programs;
  • summer day camps;
  • family child care homes;
  • large family child care homes; and
  • residential child care facilities.

This includes professional development clock hours for directors, program directors, administrators, social services staff, child care staff, teachers, master teachers, lead teachers, assistant teachers, primary caregivers, permanent substitutes and volunteers.

Care Courses is an OPDR approved training organization, and all Care Courses that are 2 clock hours or more grant formal professional development clock hours with the OPDR. Courses that offer less than 2 clock hours count as informal professional development with the OPDR. Ready to complete your training hours? See our online course catalog to get started!

Need to have your course submitted to the OPDR? Add your Oklahoma registry ID to your Care Courses account under that “Basic Info” section so that Care Courses can add your successfully completed courses to the Oklahoma registry. In most cases, Oklahoma requires Care Courses to submit training to the OPDR before we can release your certificate of completion, so make sure to add your ID to your account! Once your Registry ID number is in your account, Care Courses will automatically report all future successfully completed courses to the OK registry.

In addition, Care Courses are an excellent option for the Oklahoma safe sleep training requirement as well as the Oklahoma director’s credential administration and management training requirement. We also offer Oklahoma CDA and CDA renewal training!

Our course, Keeping Infants Safe, meets the Oklahoma Child Care Services Licensing requirement for safe sleep training and our  Oklahoma Childcare Director’s Credential Administration & Management Knowledge Skills bundle meets the OK Administration and Management training requirement for the Bronze level director’s credential.
