We often get the question, “How do your online Care Courses work?” from our students. If you have access to the Internet, our online format can be the best way for you to take our courses. If you need to get your course done fast to meet a deadline, it’s the fastest way.
How our online courses work
As soon as you order an online course, you will receive a few emails from Care Courses. Make sure you provide an up-to-date email address! The first email will be a receipt of the order you just placed. The following email(s) will contain Enrollment Code(s) for your course(s) – which is to say, you will get a separate enrollment code for every course you order. You can also get an Enrollment Code from someone else; if your center director or a friend/relative buys the course, they can just give it to you.
Once you receive your Enrollment Code, log in to your account at http://www.CareCourses.com and activate your code. Once you activate the Enrollment Code, you can access the course in the My Courses section of your online account. Ensure you’re logged in to your account when you activate the code. If you’re logged in as someone else, they will get credit for the course instead of you! If you think you’ve activated a code in the wrong account, call us as soon as possible, and we’ll work together on a solution.
You can go through the sections of your Online Course one at a time by clicking the “next” button at the bottom. If you use the “Mark My Place” button to bookmark a section, you will get a prompt asking if you want to return to that spot the next time you work on your course.
All courses have Self-Check sections with a number of true/false questions. You must score at least 70% on each section to progress to the next part of the course.
Care Courses quizzes
At the end of each lesson, you’ll take a quiz. Select your answer to each of the multiple choice questions.
When you’ve saved an answer for every question on a lesson quiz, a blue disk icon will appear next to the name of that lesson in the drop-down menu. If you see a yellow disk there, you don’t have an answer saved for all the questions. Go back to the lesson quiz, ensure you’ve answered all the questions, and click “Save Progress” to record them.
Once you are finished with all the lesson quizzes, a green button that reads “Submit for Grading” will appear at the bottom of the page. Click that, and for most quizzes, grades are provided right away. Those courses that have written assignments will take a couple of days to be graded by our staff. You will be notified by email as soon as your course has been graded.
You can check the status of your course by logging in to your account and clicking the “My Courses” tab. If you see “In Progress” under “Course Status,” then the system thinks you’re not finished yet. Click on the course title to open it up and check to see if any of your lesson quizzes have yellow disks like we described earlier. If you see “Submitted for Grading,” that means we’re working on grading your written activities and will be done with them soon.
If you score a 70% or higher on each lesson, you will see a certificate of completion in your account. Click “View Certificate’ in the My Courses area of your account to view your certificate. Watch this video to learn how to access your certificate.
Other things to know about online Care Courses
- With Online Courses you can print out the course pages (but not the quizzes) from a PDF file of the course. Click the Documents button and look for a file with the same name as the title of your course. If the file does not open, your computer may need Adobe Reader (download it here).
- You can do the course at your own pace.
