Michigan Child Care Training: Distance Learning for Child Care Providers

Good news! – All Care Courses are accepted by the Michigan Department of Human Services towards yearly training, professional development requirements. In addition, upon successful completion of a Care Course, you can receive credit for it in the Michigan Registry (MiRegistry), towards Great Start to Quality and towards a STARS organization rating.

If the prospect of attending a workshop or class in your free time sounds unappealing, you might be wondering if you can use our Care Courses. Care Courses are done online or through the mail and you don’t need to attend a class anywhere.

So… What can Care Courses do for a child care provider in Michigan? In MI you may use Care Courses for your 16 hours of annual DHS child care training if you’re in a childcare center, family child care, or group child care. In MI you can use our courses to get your National CDA credential training requirement and to renew your CDA.

We also offer training on prevention and control of infectious disease training, including immunizations, try either Managing Health and Safety in Child Care or Sanitation for Disease Prevention in Early Childhood Programs.

If you are a program director, caregiver in a childcare center, or an assistant caregiver in either a child care or a group home and need a course on safe sleep and shaken baby syndrome, check out Keeping Infants Safe. We also have course bundles for Program Director Administration Training, Lead Caregiver Qualification Training, and Lead Caregiver for Infants and Toddlers Training.

All Care Courses are also approved by the Michigan Registry (MiRegistry) and are approved towards Great Start to Quality. All of our courses may be used towards STARS organization rating.

Do you need MiRegistry child care training credit? Please ensure that your Michigan Registry ID number is added to your Care Courses account. Once you have added it, please email us at info@carecourses.com so that we can report your training. Your training will be reported automatically afterward we have your registry ID.

If you are not a child care provider, can Care Courses do anything for you?

If you are a foster parent in Michigan you may use our courses for your six hour annual training requirement. Speak with your agency licensor to have the topic/title approved.
